English Country House

I worked on this home a few years back and, for me, it really sums up a romantic English Country House. A Georgian Rectory with lots of personality and filled with colourful paints and fabrics. They say you are only as good as your last client and these clients were a dream to work with and we ended up becoming friends.

All the photos are by my very talented interiors photographer  sister ~ Emma Lewis.

The image above shows the kitchen with white walls and dark wood floors with tiles from Habibi.

I’m a huge fan of block printing and the blind fabric below is by John Robshaw. The little blue chair is covered in a Cabbages & Roses fabric.

We did the dining room chairs in a daisy weave from Vanderhurd.

One of my favourite Vaughn prints on these blinds with plain linen from a selection at Tissus D’Helene for the curtains . The Suzani sofas belonged to the client already but we added a few contrast cushions in a  Lisa Fine print.

These botanical prints were from an auction. I actually went to bid on a sofa and ended up buying a huge pile of them for next to nothing. I love auctions for the sense of bounty hunting they provide!

playroom

The playroom was tricky because of the beams in funny places and getting anything up the narrow and small stairs was well nigh impossible. In the end this sofa was made in parts and assembled up there.
