PRINT- Knepp Docks - Rumex Obtusifolius
The dock’s seed head was the first one I collected to study in more detail. Perhaps one of my favourite colours in nature. Loathed by gardeners for their long strong taproots that makes them hard work to weed but one of the quickest plants to ‘mend’ any broken ground its seeds are abundant and provide food for all types of wildlife. Famously used to soothe nettle stings the leaves are edible and if picked young a good source of vitamins A & C.
Drawn in natural ink on sustainably sourced handmade paper from Bhutan
